A well-designed reflection prompt can guide students towards integrating their experiential learning experience with existing knowledge. In this session the It's About Engagement (IAE) Critical Reflection rubric will be reviewed and used as a guide for designing reflection prompts to allow students to make meaning of their HIP experience. Once the reflection prompts are drafted they will be critiqued for clarity and alignment to the IAE Critical Reflection Rubric. – January 06, 2022

Academia traditionally centers thoughts and reason，but there is a new movement to find the heart in higher education (Palmer and Zajonc 2010). What does it mean to do our work with love as well as will，and with a balance between head and heart? In fact，the heart chakra is the one in the center of the system，and as such is the one dedicated to balance—between teaching and research，giving and receiving，work and life，and so on. In this workshop we will unpack the mechanics of the heart chakra and generate strategies for a professional life where heart and mind are reunited. – December 10, 2021

In the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning，students are our “human subjects”; thus，SoTL studies，while often classified as Exempt from Continuing Review，require oversight of the Institutional Review Board. However，the close relationship of researcher and participants in SoTL studies necessitates special consideration. Join us for a webinar co-facilitated by CETL and the Office of Research to discuss ethical and procedural guidelines for building a SoTL IRB proposal. – December 09, 2021

While this is a required process，it can also be an opportunity to think strategically about what we have accomplished in the past year and what our goals are for the next year – and about the story we want to tell. In this workshop we will explore strategies for documenting your effectiveness in the Teaching，Research，and Service areas; demonstrating progress toward your mutually agreed goals; laying the foundations for your next multilevel review，and situating yourself in an optimal position for negotiations with your chair. – December 08, 2021
