The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) created this yearlong on-boarding series in the hopes of continuing to build community with our new faculty and to provide them with "just-in-time" information. All educators are welcome regardless of your time here at Kennesaw State University.

    Thinking Strategically about Annual Reviews

    January 13, 2025

    11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

    Performance evaluation of faculty members is required at KSU. While some aspects of the process are college/department specific, the overall structure of the process is the same across the institution. Come to this session to gain insight on how to present yourself in the best light while keeping in mind what your chair and college need to see. We will also address the technical aspect of the review process.

      Legally, What Faculty Need to Know at KSU

      February 11, 2025

      11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

      Join us for a one-hour session where we’ll review KSU and USG’s Policies on Conflicts of Interest, Conflicts of Commitment, and Outside Activities along with the Guidelines for Faculty Consulting. You will learn how to identify, manage, and disclose conflicts in your academic work to ensure compliance and uphold academic integrity. There will also be a brief overview of the Intellectual Property Policy where you will be introduced to the basics of intellectual property here at KSU. Don't miss this opportunity to align your research and teaching with KSU and USG standards.

        Expanding the NEST: Utilizing Course Design and Resources for Student Success

        March 3, 2025

        2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

        Student success is an institutional and University System of Georgia priority. The literature on student success is very robust and it has identified several strategies that work to increase student learning, retention, and success. In this session, we will explore resources provided at KSU supporting student success and off course design strategies to incorporate these practices.

          April 18, 2025

          KSU is a rapidly changing institution, which might make thinking strategically about long term success daunting. In this conversation with experienced and successful faculty from a variety of backgrounds, we will hear about their journey and distill insights that will help early-career faculty be intentional in their approach. Participants will have ample time to ask their own questions of the panelists:
