Flourishing in AY 2020-2021: Working Together to Do and Be Well in Times of Uncertainty
9:00 – 10:00 am
Facilitated by: Esther Jordan & Traci Stromie
This webinar will engage participants in guided reflection on the past year with an eye toward flourishing (doing well and being well) in the year to come.
We will consider feedback received from annual reviews and student evaluations, as well as our own stories of challenges and triumphs. We will take time together to pause, reflect, and set intentions for our well-being and productivity in the year to come. We will celebrate our accomplishments together. We will identify the steps we need to take beginning this summer to do and be well – and hopefully flourish – as we wrap up an exceptionally challenging semester and face continued uncertainty in the days ahead. -

Owning and Communicating Your Faculty Narrative
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Facilitated by: Michele DiPietro & Esther Jordan
We all communicate our accomplishments in formal narratives for annual and/or promotion and tenure review, and it can be critical to our careers to get them right. We also form and share our professional narratives daily in a variety of informal ways. Participants in this webinar will be invited to consider the function and power of faculty narratives – both formal and informal. We will identify best practices for developing and communicating them in terms of how accomplishments and lessons learned fit within a whole body of work. Special attention will be paid to quality and significance as we take time during the webinar to reflect and craft text to use in the year to come.
