“It’s about engagement!” is the university student success initiative, centered around the three High-Impact Teaching Practices of Undergraduate Research, Internships, and Service Learning. After a successful R&D stage, culminating with the SACSCOC visit in Spring 2019, it enters its active phase in Fall 2019. The initiative is designed to be transformational at a capillary level, with chairs playing pivotal roles in their schools and departments. Dr. Scott Reese will present the vision for this initiative, highlight at least 2 important roles Chairs will have to play, and share the tools associated with those roles (institutional definitions and frameworks). Challenges and opportunities will also be discussed.
