"Talking about Teaching" Drop-in Sessions

During the summer, CETL's Graduate Student Professional Development program is offering four drop-in summer sessions for graduate student teachers or those interested in teaching to simply talk about teaching. These drop-in sessions about teaching in online or on-ground classrooms are intended to be informal spaces for graduate students to share teaching ideas, stories, and resources; ask questions; and explore possibilities for teaching their courses in the fall or in the future.

Depending on graduate student interests, topics might include creating an inclusive classroom, providing student feedback, facilitating discussions, testing and testing alternatives, the role of the syllabus, imposter syndrome, and more.

There is no need to sign up. Students may arrive at any time or leave at any time. This is an informal space to talk about teaching--the joys, challenges, questions, concerns, and possibilities afforded in online or on-ground environments.

I will facilitate the conversation and provide participants with a follow-up summary of the discussion and other resources in response to student needs and questions.

  • Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 3:00pm - 4:00pm
